Spent a precocious teenage years amidst the rise of DC brands.
The designer immersed himself in a variety of fashion and art.
Amidst the dizzying changes of the era, he began to feel a lack of realism in the suit styles that were premised on being tied up. He began searching for a suit and jacket style that could be enjoyed more naturally, without pretense or effort, and launched Pelemele as the embodiment of that idea. As an antithesis to the easy categorization of "dress" or "casual," he named it Pelemele, which means "hodgepodge" in French.
"COVERALL JKT"
It is made with the idea that by reducing the details as much as possible, we do not want to create something pushy as a brand. Like a jacket, like a work coverall, or like a shirt, it is an entity that can transform in any way depending on the wearer and the styling of the day.
To achieve this, it is designed with:
・Emphasis on lightness
・Wider body width and hem
・A slightly deeper V-zone
・Longer length
・Slightly wider shoulders
・Deeper armholes
There has been a minor change from this 26AW season. While it had straight sleeves until 26SS, we have added the diagonal stitching often seen on coveralls and made it a one-button functional cuff. This adds visual definition and also makes it smoother to roll up the sleeves when desired.
A yarn-dyed flannel check using 100% organic cotton for both warp and weft. The surface has been brushed to create a material with a warm and soft texture. A chic glen check is accented by a striking blue overcheck.
